Orange Romania

Orange Romania, in partnership with the Darwin Initiative for Biodiversity, are the main sponsors for the range of activities you see described in this website: biodiversity studies and conservation, and innovative measures to support the small-scale farming communities of the area.
Orange Romania support was announced in December 2005 at a
press conference by Richard Moat, Chief Executive Officer of
Orange Romania. Richard Moat emphasised that the ADEPT Foundation project had been selected by Orange as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme, because of its innovative mix of economic development, conservation and education.
Messages of support for the programme were given by Danut Apetrei, State Secretary for Rural Development at the Ministry of Agriculture & Rural Development, by Attila Korodi, State Secretary for European Integration, Ministry of Environment and Water Management, and others.
Orange Romania has continued its support in 2006-2009. In addition to financial support and useful feedback on strategy, Orange is contributing manpower: Orange staff have volunteered 6 weekends per year to carry out community development activities such as clearing river banks, creating footpaths and erecting signage. The volunteer work camps included 20-25 people each weekend, who stayed with villagers in Viscri, Crit and Saschiz. These weekends are very popular with Orange staff, as well as making practical contributions to community projects.
