Impact in 2010:


  • 17.000ha of High Nature Value grassland brought under conservation management
  • ADEPT-facilitated EU support payments for 1.400 farming families, total €1.5m
  • 100 small-scale dairy farmers in 4 villages benefiting milk income, which they had lost until ADEPT worked with them to improve milk quality. €180.000 income in 4 villages
  • €75.000 income for 40 producers from sales at farmers’ markets developed by ADEPT
  • €90.000 extra income for 30 guest house owners and service providers
  • €250.000 annual grants for 27 farmers in grazing association (Seica Mare)
  • Direct influence on Common Agricultural Policy post-2013: ADEPT project is recognised by European Commission as a model local integrated development project, which should be replicated EU-wide.
  • Income-generating achievements are backed up by training and technical assistance so that the farming communities’ capacity is increased to continue such activities themselves.  
 
Impact in 2011:
  • 17.000ha of High Nature Value grassland brought under conservation management
  • over 400,000 ha of High Nature Value grassland and grazed traditional orchards, previously not eligible for agri-environment payments, made eligible for EU agri-environment payments under measures designed and proposed by ADEPT in cooperation with Romanian Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development
  • over €1.5m/year extra income in Tarnava Mare area through ADEPT farm advisory services, based on official payments agency statistics
  • €220.000 annual grants for 39 farmers in grazing association for 940 ha of grassland and app. 10.000 sheep.
  • over 200 small-scale dairy farmers in 8 villages benefiting from over €150.000 extra income from milk, which they had lost until ADEPT helped them to improve milk quality
  • 18.000 ha of forest has been certified so that a better price can be achieved for timber, and Town Halls are exempt from environmental taxes so freeing their budgets for community use
  • over €110.000 income for producers of branded local products from sales at farmers’ markets and other points of sale developed by ADEPT
  • over €80.000 extra income for guest house owners and service providers
  • Income-generation achieved at national and EU level by policy advocacy, and at local level by training and advice to increase farming communities’ capacity.
