In 2010 ADEPT has received continued funding from the UK Darwin Initiative, and established links with another influential British conservation organisation, Fauna & Flora International. This is a recognition of the global importance of the Tarnava Mare area.
Since October 2009 Fauna & Flora International have been assisting ADEPT in conservation of the Tarnava Mare area, with technical assistance and with funding. FFI is conserving the planet’s threatened species and ecosystems – with the people and communities who depend on them, and its interest in Tarnava Mare is a recognition of the global importance of the area.The grasslands of Transylvania have some of the highest plant diversity ever recorded in the world.
In April 2009 Darwin Initiative confirmed 2-year post-project funding for ADEPT, 2010-2012, in order to create a management plan for the Tarnava Mare area.
